Add Service Item

Service items represent items that the customer may be entitled to based on their service contract or represent fixed fee services you want to provide to your customers
Not all service work performed can be billed at an hourly rate. Service items enable technician to indicate they performed the service item and the customer will be billed a pre-defined fixed fee
Customers that have a service contract may be entitled to certain service items as part of their monthly service contract charges. Rules can be established on service items that determine billability and surcharges/discounts
Technicians can easily record the service items they performed and let the system determine the appropriate invoice for the customer.

Steps:

1). Navigate to Settings and then click Service Item.

2). In the Service Items section, click Add Service Item.

3). In the Edit Service Item section, and in the Name and Description fields, enter the desired Service Item name and description respectively.

4). If you want to add a task item and manual billing items to the service item, follow the instructions below:

i). Enable Add Task for this Service Item.

ii). In the Task Description field, enter the desired description for the task.

iii). In the Category field, select the desired category code for the task.

iv). In the Part Number field, select desired part number using advanced search field and then the Revision field automatically displays the part revision.

v). From the Task Type dropdown list, select the desired task type.

vi). In the Duration and Start Delay fields, enter the validity period for the task (in days) and possible late work start period (in days) respectively.

vii). From the Priority dropdown list, select the desired priority level for the task.

5). To add manual billing items, in the Manual Billing Items section, click Add Manual Item.

i). In the Edit Manual Billing Item form, and from the Item Class dropdown list, select the desired manual billing item like Time Log or Expense Log or Part Used or Event Charge and respective form will display to enter the details.

ii). To bill the customer, enable Billable option and then in the Bill-To field, select the desired option to whom you want to charge.

iii). Click Save and Close.
