Part Domains

Part Domains are used to categorize Parts, specifically with defining whether a Part belonging to the Domain is serialized(possesses a serial number) or non-serialized(does not have a serial number).

Steps:
  1. To navigate to Part Domains-Settings, on the left pane menu, click Settings and then under Part Settings, click Part Domains.

  2. To export the listing grid display results, click Export to Excel button and then save the Excel file to desired location.

  3. To filter the search results, in the search bar, type the keyword and then click Search button.

  4. To clear the filter results/search results, beside Search field, click Clear button.

  5. To create a new filter:

    1. In the Search bar, type the keyword to display search results in the listing grid.

    2. Click Filter button and then in the dropdown menu, Click New Filter button.

    3. In the text field, enter the filter name and then click Save Filter.

  6. To delete existing filter:

    1. Click Filter button and then from the dropdown menu, select the filter that you want to delete.

    2. Click Delete Filter button.

  7. To Create a New Part Domain:

    1. On the toolbar, click Add New button.

    2. In the snippet, and in the Domain Name* and Description* fields, enter the part domain name and description details respectively.

    3. From the Installed dropdown list, select desired option based on where you want to install the part such as directly at site or under part or both for instance.

    4. From the Serialization dropdown list, select desired option based on how you want part serialization such as such as unique for all items or for each item for instance.

    5. To activate the part domain so that it is ready for use, enable Active.

    6. To make part domain unique for each site, enable Unique for each site.

    7. To make the part domain available in Bill of Materials, enable Allow in BOMs.

    8. To make the part domain available in part catalogs, enable Allow in Catalogs.

    9. To use parts such that they conform to domain rules, enable Parts Used must Conform to Domain Rules.

    10. Click Save.

  8. To Edit Part Domain:

    1. From the Part Domains-listing grid, select the desired part domain that you want to edit and then, on the toolbar, click Edit.

    2. In the Part Domain snippet, edit the desired details and then click Save.

  9. To Delete Part Domain:

    1. From the Part Domains-listing grid, select the desired Part Domain that you want to delete and then, the toolbar, click Delete
